Within the exercise of David Benito’s profession, he has focused on banking law, financial operations, syndicated loans and financial structuring and has documented all kinds of funded and unfunded credits (fiduciaries), loan portfolio for employees of banks, loan portfolio for growers of sugarcane from Cia Azucarera, and housing projects in trust. He has additionally structured, prepared and/or revised syndicated loan contracts, structured and documented credit operations related to commercial, investment and development banking and has structured and documented operations with the funding of organisms such as the IDB, which were managed in trust, such as E&CO, Finnfund, ICTP and CABEI for projects of renewable and thermal energy (run-of-the-river hydro electricity & thermals) or with OPIC funds for infrastructure. He has worked closely with the municipalities in order to build markets or water boards for drinking water projects.
He has also participated in multidisciplinary teams to review tourism projects with funding among others from CABEI. In the area of international contracting, he has been working in multidisciplinary teams in order to present service offerings jointly with HSBC New York, Panama and El Salvador. Regarding trusts and contract administration, he has been active in real estate administration, insurance and securities equity trusts and has also participated in various arbitrations as arbitrator.

David Mejia has structured a trust for the establishment, construction and acquisition of telecommunications towers across the Honduran territory, which is currently operating at the range of over US $ 100,000,000.00. Moreover, he participated in the processing of all permits for the implementation, review of purchase contracts, lease, financing structure, constitution of guarantees and establishment of the business model for its administration through the trust.
Additionally, he has participated in structuring a trust for a water and sanitation state project, where he advised the structuring of the administrative management, financing and establishment of guarantees. Said trust is active and was obtained through funds from the IDB for over US $ 100,000,000.00
Finally, David Mejia has participated in financial transactions where over a dozen trusts were structured, advising both banks and public and private companies, as well as funding entities, from the search of funds, to its implementation, involving the whole functionality and its management.
